The course includes lectures on cellular biology and molecular genetics as they apply generally to normal cell and tissue function and to disease processes.  Modules on molecular signaling and therapeutics, bioinformatics and ethical-legal aspects of the discipline are included, as well as literature reviews, laboratory practical and a laboratory project.  Approaches for Studying the Genetics of Complex Traits, Chromosomes and Chromosome Abnormalities, Principles of Cancer Genetics and Genetic Diagnostics, Methods of Human Linkage Analysis, Identifying Human Disease Genes, Genotype-Phenotype Correlations, Applications of the "New Genetics"., Organization of the Immune System and Autoimmune Disease, B Cell Immunodeficiencies, T Cell and Combined Immunodeficiencies, MHC Disease and Transplantation, Phagocyte and Complement Disorders, Disordered Interactions Between Cellular Elements of the Immune System, Allergic Disorders Disorders of Self-Nonself Discrimination-Autoimmunity Defense Against Infectious Disease/Bacterial, Mycobacterial, Fungal Infections,  Viral (HIV/AIDS) and Parasitic Diseases, Growth Factors and Cytokines in Medicine. Neurobiology Molecular Basis of Development, Pharamaco-genetics, Molecular cytogenetics, Gene therapy The M.Sc in Molecular Medicine extends over two academic years, consisting of 4 semesters. The first year consists of two semesters by course. The first semester of the second year contains advanced courses in Molecular Medicine and prepares the student for submitting a dissertation. 

 
Admission
• Applicants must satisfy the general rules for registration as specified by the graduate college of the University of Khartoum
• Holders of general Bachelor degrees in Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy and holders of an honors degrees in Laboratory Sciences, Biology and Chemistry and Public Health from the university of Khartoum or its equivalent.
• Applicants with a general degree from the Faculties of Sciences, Medical Laboratories and Public Health, will be required to pass an examination as decided by the University
